tongue of the beast...

This is a stunning image, with gorgeous colours and a lot of drama. I like the way things darken from left to right.
For me, the impact is reduced slightly by a tree on the lower edge -- although this does help to put the image in context as a sky, it's compositionally awkward and I find myself wondering what it would be like if the lower edge were cropped. I can see why you wanted to keep the part on the lower left where the light curved back inwards, a version without the tree would have possibilities because the tones and colours are so unusual that it would make the viewer wonder what exactly was being looked at - sand on a beach with a radioactive tide coming in?

But anyway, it's a very dramatic photograph and the title reflects the strong contrast between a high angelic blue/white and a lower demonic black/gold.
